Spice up your meal prep!
Tired of your meal prep by day 3? Here are a few tips to break up the monotony.
More variety, same ingredients.
An easy way to spice up your everyday meal prep is basing your meals on different cuisines. Even though you are using the same base ingredients, the spice profiles and fresh herbs will offer you a great deal of variety.
First, pick 2-3 cuisines such as Italian, Thai, Asian, Indian, Mexican, ect.
Divide your protein into two or three bowls and season them accordingly. Do the same for your grains and vegetables as well.
Feeling stuck with what to create for meal prep in the first place? You can use this method as well. Pick a different cuisine each week to start, a protein next, then build the rest of your meal from this point.
Use your grill!
For as long as I can remember campaigns for grilling have been geared toward men and meats. I am here to tell you that the grill is for everyone, and should start being implemented in your weekly meals. Why, you ask? Here are a few reasons why you should get comfortable using your grill.
Easy clean up. No extra dishes, no caked on pots and pans. High heat and a good grill brush is all you need.
Extra flavor. The char broil from the grill will infuse a smoky flavor you can only obtain from the grill.
One stop shop. No multitasking the oven and stove. All items on one cooking source make for an easy cooking process.
Grill baskets make it easy to cook vegetables or even starches like potatoes and squash. Use your temperature controls to create two separate cooking zones. Sear on high heat and then cook through on a lower heat using your two different temperature zones.
